The Gothenburg centre for Systems Biology is a centre of expertise and research hosted by the University of Gothenburg.

Systems Biology and the application of computational models of cells and organisms is expected to have major impact on how diseases are treated in the future, especially with respect to personalised medication and on how bioprocesses in biotechnology can be designed.

Gothenburg is home to a leading research environment within Systems Biology and the Gothenburg Centre for Systems Biology brings together world-leading experts dedicated to collaborate to solve biological or medical questions. Participants are included from the Faculty of Science and Sahlgrenska Academy of the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology.

A centre of expertise and research serves as a meeting point for students and researchers as well as representatives from the commercial, industrial and public sectors.

Centres of expertise and research are cross-disciplinary and may include several academic subjects, faculty areas and higher education institutions. The purpose of these centres is to manage areas and topics of interest that by nature span across several academic disciplines.
